"This weekend has been a dream come true for me! You both put everything into a conference that I (and I hope most people) would ever want! The speakers on Friday were fabulous...I look forward to hearing more on the downloads! They were inspiring, uplifting, and they really knew what to say so I would not feel guilty and encouraged me to just keep on going and just do better where I can! My children were inspired by the speakers (which was my biggest hope)! They came away happy and fired up for this next educational year and they truly have a better spirit about them! It was so helpful for them to have a venue to be able to perform and use their talents to uplift others AND practice playing in front of others! So grateful for that opportunity!
"Saturday was incredibly inspired! And I appreciate the opportunity I had to be involved even in a very small way! Both of your presentations were insightful and uplifting and really gave me some great ideas for my own home! I loved all the extra time we had in not only the activities, but the breaks to chat with the other moms at our tables to share our highs and lows in our own home schools and get their insights and boosts and ideas and to know we are not along in our ups and downs in the home school journey! And to know that we are doing the right thing....taking the higher more difficult road! The visualization that Maria gave was way cool and very helpful and her presentation was wonderful too!
"It was nice to have plenty of time to go to the vendors also...I've never had that much time before and it was nice to visit them and gather more homeschool aids for our homes! ...
"I am both humbled and blessed to know you and am extremely grateful for all the countless ways you have bettered my life from sharing your time, knowledge, talents, gifts, and love with my family and me!
"I called your names into the temple 2 days ago and pray that angels will comfort you and bless you and your family as you continue on this journey. And buoy you up from the stress that you have experienced this past weekend! The atonement is real and Christ will walk with you especially as you are acting in His stead and going about doing such an incredible work...saving our children, the next generation!!!" Jenn H
"We didn't have breakfast this morning but we've been fed! Thank you!! It was delightful." Linda K
"I wanted to take a moment and express some of the thoughts and feelings that are pulsing through me this morning. I have had a few days to digest after attending the LDS Homeschool Conference and I wanted to make sure I did not pass the opportunity to thank you for what I received.
"I could go on and on about how wonderful it was, how well run, the fun classes, the numerous messages, how great it was to talk with like-minded people (at last!) and more but I will attempt to cut to the chase.
I have homeschooled for 4 years now and at the beginning of the summer, the spirit was whispering to me that it was time to let go of the way I had been homeschooling up until this point. This was scary. I said okay, and began to look for what I was to do instead. Scanning the internet one day, what popped up? This conference- and I knew I needed to attend.
Needed- mind you, not just “Oh, this would be nice.”
And so I eagerly awaited and continued to prepare for the coming school year.
Now I will cut to the chase☺
God’s Hand- I have come to recognize Gods interest in our family homeschool. It is not just school, it is the education of His spirit children, and because I have chosen to listen to the promptings of the spirit, my children can be better educated according to how God would wish them educated.
Confidence-I came away fully confident in my decisions after realizing that I was not just making decisions about my children’s education, but that I had been following the promptings of the Holy Ghost. I had not recognized this until now. I now see the promptings and encouragement to act, I see the results, and I am now more confident to act on those prompting in the future.
My heart is full, and words fail to describe the volume and depth that is running through me…
I had never considered homeschooling a calling before, but that is exactly what it is.
"Oh, My. Goodness! Anyone else who attended the LDS Homeschool Conference in Utah feel like their mind was lit on fire? I'm LOVING all the inspiration I keep receiving as I review my notes of the past 2 days. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU . . . I can tell you that one of the overall messages that the Spirit spoke to me was the need to prayerful consider curriculum. Glenn Kimber talked about how we don't have time to waste on teaching our kids meaningless things (he specifically said Little House on the Prairie, but...) He said that we need to prepare them for the missions which included teaching the principles needed to prepare them for their missions which included teaching the principles of freedom and liberty to the youth in the middle east. It was very interesting. He talked about our kids' need to be prepared to read and study the kinds of materials that would prepare them for their missions." Dana V
"There was a special spirit about this conference. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to participate. All were bless, the attendees, the speakers, and the vendors. I was amazed at the diversity of vendors. It was not chart schools and big book publishers. These were down to earth, spirit guided, in the trenches, creative parents with awesomeness to offer... It was wonderful, I just spent my time meeting wonderful parents, answering questions, even talking to some young girls at my table, just sharing with them stories to inspire, watching their bright eyes as they listened to the stories. I even saw a young lad of about 10 or 12 carrying his baby sister whose rem was in a cast... The spirit was so strong. That is what happens when someone earnestly goes out on a limb of faith, takes on the enormous expense in time, creativity and money to put such an event on. Then in total trusting faith turns to the Lord and prayerfully considers who to ask to speak, on what topics, and what vendors to include. This kind of event planning yields such a spiritual tone to the whole event, and I saw many who were greatly edified. Now that is event planning at its best! The hundreds who came I feel were wonderfully blessed.
"I have homeschooled 31 years. Seldom to see much nowadays that I feel I need to add. But this conference was different." Donna G
"We weren't sure what to expect from the LDS Homeschool Conference but we wanted to give it a try. I watched the kids while my wife attended the conference. She got a lot out of the classes on Friday. On Saturday she said it was more of a spiritual experience where she was able to listen to others and learn from them and reflect and let the Spirit whisper to her how things applied to her situation and to our children.
"This week she thanked me for taking care of the kids so that she could participate in the conference. She said that it was an amazing experience intellectually, spiritually and socially.
"I love giving these opportunities to my wife to grow as a mother and as a person. I want to thank you for putting together this conference so that my wife could benefit from everything that was offered. Thanks again." Mark P
"For me, it was the one on one conversations I had with people. I met some incredible people who desire to follow the spirit and lead their children. I was blown away!" Maria O
"What a fantastic conference last weekend! I wanted to extend to you yet another huge THANK YOU for all your hard work and dedication to pull off such a great event!
"This was my first time presenting at the conference and I loved it! It was amazing for me to share a part of who I was with others, especially with others who understand the importance of learning and life mission! I felt a wonderful sense of meaning and purpose through this!
"So again, thank you over and over and over!" Matt P
Thank you so very much for ALL the time, energy, love and sacrifice you and your family members put into and made for the LDS Homeschool Conference! (I should also add in financial sacrifice.) I am always inspired by an entire family working together for a common cause. Your cause benefitted so many of us and I am very grateful! I appreciated your calm, trusting attitudes that it would all work out, with much help from above. I so enjoyed working together with you and other great people. There was sufficient organization while allowing each of us to act in our own responsibilities the way we felt was best - not an easy thing to do. I, personally, learned much not only from what information was shared but also from the way it was presented. Additionally, I enjoyed being nourished by the spirit as well!
Thank you again for spear-heading such a wonderful event! -- Wendi J
Thank you for the opportunity to volunteer at you marvelous homeschool conference. It was spectacular!! --Ray C.
How has the knowledge of the Plan of Happiness brought you closer to God? What brings you happiness?
We are centering the conference on Happiness.
The theme this year is, "If you understand the great plan of happiness and follow it, what goes on in the world will not determine your happiness.” A quotation by Boyd K. Packer.
President Boyd K. Packer gave a talk to all the religious educators in 1993 called "The Great Plan of Happiness" where he assigned all "to prepare a brief synopsis or overview of the plan of happiness—the plan of salvation. Design it as a framework on which your students can organize the truths you will share with them." Because of this presentation all Seminary, Institute and Come Follow Me curriculum start each year with teaching the Plan of Happiness. We invite you to do the same.
He doesn't leave us hanging, but gives us an idea of how to begin. Here is what he said, "I was really tempted to prepare a brief overview of the plan of happiness as a model for you to follow. And then I thought better of it. You need to prepare the outline yourself. Only then will you present it persuasively... It will require study and prayer and work. There is no question but that you will learn more in the process than any one of your students will learn. The very doing of it is your reward.
"I will give you the barest outline of the plan as a beginning, but you must assemble your framework yourself.
"The essential components of the great plan of happiness, of redemption, of salvation, are these:
"...There are fundamental truths which, if understood, will help our youth understand the plan of happiness and entice them to remain faithful.
"...Convince them of the reality of spiritual things. First teach them that “the spirit and the body are the soul of man” (D&C 88:15). Man is a dual being, a spirit within a mortal body."
We invite you to read the whole talk, plan to make a notebook or a record for yourself and then take it to your family and invite them to make one too. This has brought our family great joy and many, many amazing discussions. We will be sharing examples of these works at the conference and sharing pictures as they come in before the conference. Please share with us your experience with this invitation.

We know you'll love it. The new location is also amazing inside. Come and see what we are doing to make it beautiful and inviting.
We have changed our website name. The LDS church has asked that we to not use the temple or the angel Moroni as our logo. To accommodate this we changed our website name and logo.
We chose Center Point Enterprise because "Center Point" represents God the Father and we want to center our lives and this conference on Him and Christ’s teachings.
4 - 8 - 1
The steeple has a square foundation which represents the number four and earth life or mortality. The center of the steeple has eight sides representing rebirth, baptism and transformation. The top of the steeple is round and points up to God. We live on earth (square-4 sides) and if we accept Christ and are baptized (octagon-8 sides) we come closer to God (the circle and point-1).
